A couple of months ago, I finally purchased the components to build my next PC. I have been gradually assembling it, and I have been finding that either this is a lot more difficult than I remember it being, or these things have become more complex in the decade (plus) since I last built one.
I will make another more detailed post about the PC itself, but I just want to say the amount of cooling that modern PCs require is really intense, particularly the CPU. The heat sink/fan apparatus that I used is larger than a softball, and so far has been the most difficult part of the assembly process. I considered it a minor victory to have completed this step.
I’ve got the RAM, power supply, and hard drive installed, and next up is to get the motherboard into the case and wire everything up.
Stay tuned I guess…
